Association for the Teaching of Religious Education in Scotland
Professional organisation for those involved in the teaching of religious and moral education in Scottish schools. The association provides a framework for members to work together to promote and lobby for improvements in Scottish RME.

Easter ideas in modern foreign languages
Easter resources and activities in French, German, Spanish and Italian, compiled by the Learning and Teaching Scotland Modern Foreign Languages Environment (MFLE). The resources include recipes, games, plays and photos.

Expressions of Faith
This website has images of some of the British Library's most beautiful sacred manuscripts relating to Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism and Skihism. Each image is accompanied by a personal interpretation and historical information written by well-known people from different faiths.

Religious and Moral Education: Support for 5-14
A website created by the Religious Education section of the Department of Social Subjects at Jordanhill Campus, University of Strathclyde. It is a rich resource of background information, images and texts for major world religions, organised by the 5-14 strands and levels.

Sacred Destinations
An ecumenical guide to more than 1,100 sacred sites, holy places, pilgrimage destinations, religious architecture and sacred art in 55 countries. In addition to richly-illustrated articles, Sacred Destinations has photo galleries with over 15,000 high-quality images plus detailed maps and practical travel information.

Sacred texts
On this British Library website users can 'turn the pages' of digital copies of eight magnificent religious books; the Christian texts include the Lindisfarne Gospels, a Renaissance Book of Hours and a 17th century Ethiopian bible; the Jewish texts are a medieval bible and prayerbook in Hebrew; and there is a copy of a illuminated Arabic Qu'ran. The site also has a link to images and information about 67 other religious works and an interactive map showing the origin of each sacred text.

Scotland and the Abolition of the Slave Trade
Created to mark the bicentenary of the 1807 Abolition of Slavery Act, this website has information about Scotland's role in the transatlantic slave trade, about the abolitionist campaign and its legacy, ideas for religious observance assemblies and links to other key resources, including events and exhibitions across Scotland in 2007.

Sugar, slavery and the making of the West Indies
This virtual exhibition from the British Library is part of its collection of images called Caribbean Views. The exhibition includes a personal essay by author and broadcaster Dr Mike Phillips and access to the selected 19th century images of the West Indies and people and artefacts from the slave trade and its abolition.
